Accessibility Mark : Cinema Without Barriers
Work has officially begun on the implementation of the innovative project "Quality Mark: Cinema Without Barriers". The activities will be carried out until spring 2027 in cooperation with four partner cinemas: Kino Echo in Jarocin, Kino Pionier 1907 in Szczecin, Kino Oskard in Konin, and the Gdynia Film Centre in Gdynia.
The initiative is implemented thanks to funding granted by the Europa Cinemas network under the Collaborate to Innovate 2026 programme, which aims to develop and strengthen the position of cinemas.
The project is co-financed by the European Union (Creative Europe: Europa Cinemas – Collaborate to Innovate) and the City of Poznań budget, managed by the ZAMEK Culture Centre in Poznań.
Key objectives and aims of the project
The financial support obtained, amounting to EUR 120,000, will be allocated to developing and testing the criteria for awarding the "Quality Mark: Cinema Without Barriers".
The following activities will be implemented within the framework of this budget:
Research and educational activities: including conducting research in the 4 partner cinemas and developing the third part of the "Accessible Cinema Toolkit" in two languages.
Dissemination activities: specifically organizing accessible film screenings (adapted to the needs of people with different needs) in all five participating cinemas.
Partnership network development: strengthening the role of the participating cinemas as regional leaders in the field of cultural accessibility.
